Why your vet clinic doesn't show on Google (and how to fix it)
When someone searches "vet near me" or "emergency vet", it's almost always because their pet needs help right now. There's no time to dig through the second page of Google, so if your clinic isn't among the first results, that person ends up at the clinic next door.
These are the most frequent reasons a vet clinic stays invisible in local searches.
01 The Google Business profile is incomplete or not linked to the website
It's common for the Google profile to have outdated hours, the wrong phone number, or no link to the website. Google favors complete, active profiles, so a half-finished one makes it much harder to rank near the top.
02 There's no tappable phone number for emergencies
In an urgent search, people want to tap and call within seconds, not hunt for the number in a tiny footer. If the phone number isn't tappable and visible from the first second on mobile, that call is lost.
03 It's not clear whether you handle after-hours emergencies
Many people search precisely because it's night or the weekend. If the website doesn't say explicitly whether there's 24h emergency care, or during which hours, people don't waste time checking: they keep looking for a clinic that says it clearly.
04 The website is slow or doesn't adapt well to mobile
These searches almost always happen on a phone and in a hurry. A website that takes long to load, or where you have to zoom in to read the phone number, makes people leave before finding what they need.
05 Services aren't listed clearly
Vaccinations, surgery, emergencies, dog grooming, hospitalization... if these services aren't mentioned in those words on the website, Google has fewer reasons to show your clinic when someone searches for exactly that, and visitors don't see it at a glance either.
The next step
It's almost always two or three of these points keeping your clinic out of the top results, and they can be checked with concrete data. I offer an audit of your website for $300: I'll tell you exactly what's failing and what can be improved. If you then want to go further, a rebuild of your current website (audit included) is $1,500, and a brand-new website from scratch (audit included) is $2,000.
