How to tell your website is failing
You don't need to know anything about technology to spot the flaws that cost you the most clients. Grab your phone, open your website as if you were a customer, and start checking.
Ten signs to check in five minutes
- It takes more than three seconds to open on mobile using data, not wifi.
- You have to zoom in or scroll sideways to read the text.
- The browser warns that the site "is not secure" (no padlock).
- There's no clear button to book an appointment, call, or reserve on the first screen.
- The phone number is shown as plain text and can't be tapped to call.
- The photos are stock images, not of your premises or your team.
- The text still has template filler or empty sections.
- The hours, prices, or services are out of date.
- You search for your sector plus your city on Google and don't appear in the top results.
- You submitted the contact form yourself as a test and the message never arrived.
How to interpret the result
If you checked 2 or 3 signs, your website has specific, fixable flaws: they can usually be corrected without rebuilding it entirely.
If you checked 5 or more, the problem isn't a loose detail: that website is working against you every day, and it's probably more worthwhile to rebuild it than to keep patching it.
Why the next step is an audit
This checklist tells you something is wrong, but not in what order to fix it or how much each flaw is costing you. That's what the audit does: it reviews your actual website point by point and delivers it in writing, with specific findings rather than a generic report template. It costs $300 and doesn't commit you to anything afterward.
